August 17 - September 30

A better-than-average fall migration with enough ‘good’ things reported to force me, once again, to omit migration reports of usual species for lack of space, but please do continue to report these. Only 0.2 inches of rainfall in Sep, things pretty dry, generally good visibility. I received reports on 3 pelagic trips conducted off North Coast waters, one out of Ft. Bragg on 5 Sep and 2 out of Humboldt Bay on 9 and 15 Sep. Abbreviations used: AB = Arcata Bottoms; AOP = Arcata Oxidation Pond; BSLP = Butcher Slough Log Pond; EL = Expected Location; EM =Expected Migrant; ERWA = Eel River Wildlife Area; FR = Few Records; GW = Gee Whiz Report: HBNWR = Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge; IB = Interesting Behavior; ID = Interesting Date; IIT = Interesting, if true; IL = Interesting Location; IN = Interesting Numbers; MKSP = MacKerricher State Park; mo = Many Observers; MS = Monitored Species; NC = Not confirmed by a second party, no details or description; PPSP = Patricks Point State Park.
