President’s Message

On January 4, 2002, the Redwood Region Audubon Society initiated a new way to publicize events by e-mail.  We formed an automatic distribution list through one of the gratis vendors on the Internet.  The focus of this listserv is to announce upcoming events and conservation concerns.  I hope that this listserv will be utilized by the various bodies of this chapter to announce field trips, meetings and publications such as our new checklist, meeting minutes, T-shirts etc.  It is a perfect venue to trumpet our successes, whatever they may be.  Furthermore, I particularly hope it is used by our members and other concerned nature lovers to alert us about real threats to our environment and to plead for action of those so inclined.

Only seventeen people are subscribed.  Now that Sue Leskiw has taken on the task of sending the Public Service Announcements to the many media venues in our area, those of you who need reminders of trips and what-not stay tuned for receiving announcements in your mail box.
