Most of you know about the Arcata BirdBox. It can be thought of as a birder's voicemail. You can leave or retrieve messages of rare bird detections. If you haven't tried it recently, new improvements have made it easier to use. Give it a try by calling 822-5666. If you wonder what constitutes a rare bird, pick up Doc Harris's book or our chapter-produced checklist at the NEC or the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center.
