A Lot of Birds Are Going to be Renamed!
Submit your suggestions by December 31!
The North American Ornithological Society (NAOS) has decreed that all bird species north of Mexico named after people will be renamed. This will apply to the northwest California species listed below.
If you have ideas for new names, please send them to Ken Burton at shrikethree@gmail.com before January. Please submit no more than one new name for each species.
Ken will compile all suggestions and put them out for a vote on the NWCALBIRD listserv, then send the results to the NAOS for consideration as it comes up with new names.
If you want an opportunity to vote, join the NWCALBIRD listserv at groups.io before January.
